​These dancers, based on photographs from the Jane Austen Festival in Bath 2021, started by drawing with a brush in thinned burnt sienna oil paint, and then developing the skin tones and dress areas until the painting has enough detail without compromising the sense of movement. By using this method, the final work echoes the subject matter.
